Serenity Prayer 평온을 비는 기도

한 때 열심히 시를 암송했는데 내가 '영어로' 외우는 시(기도문)이자 참으로 소중히 여기는 글이다. 

Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.

 

주님, 나에게 마음의 평온을 주세요.

바꿀 수 없는 것들을 받아들일 수 있도록

바꿀 수 있는 것들 앞에서는 바꿀 용기를 주시고

이 둘을 분별할 수 있는 지혜를 주세요.

Living one day at a time;

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

as it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right

if I surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy with Him

Forever in the next.
